Healing The Future
January 16 , 2002

Notes
Red Bear speaks briefly in this session regarding Medicine People and healing, Healing The Future, "selecting one's tribe carefully," history and the Ancient Ones.

Session

Emissary:
Good morning. A moment more if you will.

Yes. Good morning. We do have some things that we wish to discuss with you in our time together. Also we understand that there is some interest in speaking with Red Bear in regard to healing energies. Is this correct?

K:
Yes.

Emissary:
Very well, anything else on your agenda?

K:
Ancient Ones.

DB:
I’m interested in sound and vibration, toning and tuning the body and how that ties in to the ecstatic body positions, which is also tied in to me with healing energies.

Emissary:
Yes. So, where would you like to begin?

DB:
Sounds. They do seem to make me feel better when I do them and I want to see how they work with my own spiritual practice. More information in general.

K:
When I had my two children, I felt inhibited like I had to be quiet with the first one. The second one I was with a midwife in a birthing center and she encouraged me to make sounds as I birthed the baby and I was really really surprised how much it helped to do that. It facilitated the birth, most definitely.

DB:
And we use the sound here, the chime, when we begin.

K:
It has the power to connect you with the truth of things in a way that words don’t.

Red Bear:
So. We will begin. Yah T'e-Eh.

What you are interested in knowing about healing and about sound and about the postures are all related to each other as you suspect. They are also related to what the Emissary is looking toward of the Ancient Ones. So. We will begin where you wish to begin and will build the story from there.

Healing as we have said before is a part of the energies of the world. Healing is what the earth does naturally. Healing is the vibration of the earth. And so you may use the energies of the earth in their many forms to focus healing on the individual or on what you think of as the disease of the individual. This is a matter of wisdom and connection of the medicine person with the energy of the one seeking the healing. It is not just one way. But it uses all of the healing power of the earth to create the healed situation. The healed being. The healed energy. We have spoken in the past of spirits of the earth, healing spirits. This is one way of thinking about the earth and its creation of health. Earth creates and manifests its healing energy in many different ways, in many different forms. And when the medicine person acts on the behalf of the one seeking the healing, the connection can be made using any of the healing spirits to effect the change.

This is why it is good to have a broad knowledge of the healing energies, the plants, the rocks, the earth, the air, the four-leggeds, the flying ones, because they are all manifestations of the healing energy of the earth. You are thinking about sounds and the power of voice. It is not just voice, it is sound. Sound is greater than voice. Sound is what the body does as it moves with the earth. It is like vibration. The earth vibrates--is sound. The body vibrates on and in the earth—is sound. The voice is a peculiarity of the vibration of the body. It is a control of the spirit, of the vibration, to move into the air that vibration so that it can be perceived by others through the ears. But sound is broad. You hear us with your body even though we do not speak.

Now, the postures are ways of tuning the vibration of the body to create certain effects in the greater awareness of the place and of the spirit. It is a tuning of the vibration of the body so when one takes a posture, when one holds the body in a certain way then there is a shift in the vibration that is predictable. And this is why with certain postures the voice is not used. It is more powerful to be in the posture than to speak the words. These all come together in movement and with dancing and singing. Is why through our culture there is dancing and singing and rhythm and movement. It is not just entertainment. It is not some worship of the gods or however else your people may think of it. It is combination of sound, movement, vibration. All together. And when one sings it is not necessary that the words make sense. Do you see?

So if one is dancing in rhythm, there is no word. But the sound and the movement and the vibration are all one together. It is a way of bringing together the key spirits of healing, not to worship or to create some effect, but to heal. Not just the self, but all. It is a healing of the earth. It is the earth healing itself through the dancer. And of course, since we are all part of the earth we are all healed.

DB:
That made me think of a lightening rod that attracts other energy, like a beacon. It attracts energy to form a greater mass than just the person and the sound. It exponentially increases.

Red Bear:
We are considering "lightening rod."

DB:
Lightening rod attracts lightening.

K:
Channels it to the ground rather than someplace you don’t want it to go.

DB:
It is a directional thing. The lightening rod doesn’t hold the lightening, it’s just a conduit.

K:
As the dancer bring in sound, movement, vibration, it brings in the healing energies and they move through he or she for healing of the earth and everyone the same way a lightening rod will bring in the energy and direct it.

Red Bear:
The medicine person is one who draws the energy from the earth, gathers energy from the earth and from other healing energies together into the body. And through the body then moves the healing energy also focusing, like pointing. The energy comes in and goes, is directed. It is perhaps not the same as lightening rod in that the energy does not come in randomly, or come in undirected and is channeled. Is different. It is a conscious gathering and sometimes storing. The search for power is an important search for the medicine person. Gathering and storing. So it is not like a tube. It is like pouch.

DB:
Yes, I see what you’re saying. So the medicine person comes to know the different energies or spirits, and their power. And there’s a way of communicating with them to invite their power within the medicine person and then either storing it for later use or directing it through focus into other avenues of healing.

Red Bear:
Yes. In our time the medicine person was carefully chosen by the elders for certain qualities of spirit. So that the road to becoming a healing medicine person would be easier and they would be taught from a young age about the healing spirits. And as they grew they would accumulate power by the teachings. This was our culture. Each having their own place in the tribe. And so we were careful about selections of tasks of individuals. In your way of speaking, there were not many resources for the tribe to draw upon. Not so many as seems today in your time. So we would be careful in making such assignments, such selections. It seems in your time that there are those who have a skill in healing. It would be good to teach them if you have the vision to find them earlier.

DB:
It seems now many people are drawn to the healing arts and many many people strive to do…is healing.

Red Bear:
Yes. All have an ability for healing. All creatures. All entities. All energies. Because healing is becoming in tune with the healing vibration of the earth. All have that ability. There are some who for reasons of their own spirit, are more attuned to that vibration, that power than others. What we, “we” meaning Red Bear and the Council, perceive of your time is there is a great need for healing. And so many are drawn to tune themselves in that way, to connect with the power of healing as a way of service. And yet there are those among you in your time who have a particular ability more than others. It would be good if your chiefs, your leaders, could find them and let them do their work. Help them in particular to increase their power and use it more effectively. There are many medicine people but much fewer medicine chiefs. We would say, though, Red Bear would say, that the earth will find a way for healing in your time. Do you understand?

DB:
I know there is a lot of talk about healing the earth and how the peoples are supposed to heal the earth. I’ve always thought the earth was very powerful and it could heal itself.

Red Bear:
You are correct. The earth does not need healing. The people need the healing. We understand the intentions of those who speak in this way. They have good feeling for mother earth and they see the future for the people. They see that future will be changed in a way that will make it more difficult for the people to continue. And so their desire, then, is not to heal the earth, but to heal the future.

DB:
Yes. A very beautiful distinction.

Red Bear:
We, in my time, in my tribe, were always concerned with the future. It is hard for us to imagine a people who do not see into the future and work always for themselves in the future. It is not something we easily understand. It is one of the things that was a great struggle for the people when the white persons came in to our lands. Very difficult to understand these people.

K:
I don’t think I understand it either. I feel very disconnected from the future we create in our age. I think part of the healing will have to come from making those kind of shifts.

Red Bear:
We would say that you are on to the right track.

DB:
So you said the earth would heal itself in our time?

Red Bear:
If so, we perhaps spoke unclearly. What we, Red Bear, intended to say is that even if your chiefs, your leaders are not able to find the medicine chiefs of your time and work with them, the earth itself, Mother Earth, will find a way to move the healing energies into your culture. With or without the help of your wise ones. It will be done. This is not to say that it will be a short journey. It is a healing for the future. It moves always into the future. Tomorrow is the future. And so is 100 years. Is this clearer?

DB:
Yes. So by what we can do as individuals by connecting, the movement, the sound, the energy, connecting to those and bringing forth of that in our day-to-day lives which impacts other people, the earth. So it’s something tangible that we can do for ourselves and other people. A healing thing, simple, practical thing we can do.

Red Bear:
Yes. What you do heals you, heals your future. When there is a group of you, circle, it heals each individual in the circle and so heals a greater part. Each contributes to the whole. On a single level, individual level, and on a cultural level. So we would say it is a good thing to choose your tribe well. And tune the people of your tribe to healing the future. It perhaps should be noted that our tribe worked always to heal the future of the tribe and we guided our people into a happy and prosperous future always. And yet, there were powers that dismantled our future. It is a lesson to look at– the people and the cultures of our time and see what occurred. Is a lesson. We did not give up our vision of the future easily or carelessly. It was surrendered as a lesson. Those who look at our culture, our tribe, and see only victims miss the point. It is a lesson. We, the council, hope that you are understanding of this.

K:
It is a lesson that has not been learned. I have very mixed feelings about what the future holds for this culture. Whether or not it is worth saving. And as I take my stance on my path, I must do what I must do and work for healing because it is the right thing to do, knowing that there are no guarantees as to how it will come out. And I honestly am not very optimistic, and I worry for my children. What kind of world will they grow up in? I prepare them for different possibilities. I feel like I’m in many ways facing a final showdown. And if the lessons aren’t learned, they will be lost. And even so I take up my tools and try to strengthen my courage, try to be courageous and go ahead. It is clear what we must do in working for the future and staying on the path. And keeping the vision of the path with heart.

t’s a real downer.

DB:
I feel the same way. It seems insane sometimes. Hurling our bodies along at great speeds in big metal objects and rushing, not even noticing the stars. And yet I do it. I drive the car. I shop at the grocery store. I’m not growing my own food. I work on holding the connection of spirit and that’s where I’m pouring my whole energy and interest into strengthening the connection with spirit that is beyond what I can see. Because I see insanity and greed and disrespect. There are pockets of beauty and compassion that just make me inspired. But it’s like the whole advertising world with how you look and the mental world of “we have to have a reason for everything and if we don’t have scientific proof it is not valid.”

K:
And the desecration of life.

DB:
Animals on the side of the road from the cars we drive. Killed on the road. So I really hold on to that feeling of spirituality. It’s the only thing that makes sense to me and bring it in to every breath, every aspect, so I don’t feel crazy.

Red Bear:
This is what we are thinking of by selecting your tribe carefully. Choosing those who have the same vision of the future. The vision of the whole of your culture may or may not fit the vision of your tribe. In my time the tribes were scattered. Many tribes, not one. And a tribe had its own vision, its own future. And it was only from time to time that the tribes would gather to compare visions, or to address common problems that were beyond the tribe. One of the things that your culture brings is a different view of the larger tribe. Rather than the smaller tribes becoming a nation, it is attempting to be one nation. In the wisdom of our time, this could never work. The tribes are all different. They have different places, they have different needs, they have different ways of living, particular to their areas.

------tape turns over ---------

difficulty you are having with your culture. We would suggest so. It makes sense then to grow small again. And choose wisely those with whom you create your tribe. Your circle. We would also say that the tools of your time are not bad, not inherently bad. So we used metal knives and mirrors and glass beads and these sorts of things also that were brought to us by the white settlers. So do not think that all of your tools are bad. It is wise to be aware of what is available and to choose those things that are useful and perhaps not the prettiest, but the most useful. And use them wisely. Your metal boxes you are referring to, your vehicles, may be a tool that is important for you. Not bad. It is when one begins to gather more knives than one needs or to use the knives in ways that work not in harmony with the vision of the tribe that becomes a problem.

You caught the attention of the council with your speaking (K). They were all listening very intently to you.

DB:
As was I.

Red Bear:
And in response they are silent. The wisdom of your words is good.

K:
Thank you. I’ve been working toward becoming more true to myself and saying what I need to say. I guess I can’t not say it.

Red Bear:
The sharing of wisdom is an important part of the culture of the tribe. And sometimes when the wisdom is great there is a time for silence and reflection. We would in some times gather in council for many days and sit in silence until the words were understood by all. And only then would the chief of the council speak. Your words are those that would give us pause. We honor them.

K:
Thank you. Wow.

K:
Do we have time to talk about the Ancient Ones?

DB:
I need to leave in 20 minutes, but I’m here 100% until then.

Red Bear:
The stories of the Ancient Ones will take some time to tell. We will say to you before taking our leave that this is a knowledge that holds the greatest power we ever encountered in all of our histories. In our view the topic of the Ancient Ones, known to us as spirits or to others as allies, represented one of the greatest mysteries of all. And we came to understand them in many ways. So. It is one of the topics that is key to a certain kind of understanding of the mysteries, the magic, of everything that is. So, we leave you with that thought.

K and DB:
Thank you Red Bear.

Emissary:
So, did you have your questions adequately answered?

DB:
Yes, now I’m just depressed.

Emissary:
If you choose to be, feel free.

K:
The task is so monumental at some times I can just look at the little piece of it.

Emissary:
Yes, we would agree with you to a large extent. It is quite difficult to create the reality for your six billion people as opposed to creating the reality for the one. Place to start is where you are. Place to go is where you wish to go. Do not underestimate the wisdom in what Red Bear refers to as selecting your tribe carefully. If you are to take some time and reflect on those that you consider to be in your tribe, you will find that you have been quite selective. And you’re mostly confused about those outside. So we would suggest that you not confuse the inside and the outside just yet.

K:
Especially when for me, they are family members. I’ve had a lot of difficulty realizing that family members are not my tribe.

Emissary:
We would like to share with you part of the silent deliberation of the council to your words. One of them was that in their time and in their culture the children were raised to a certain age and then if there was no place within the group, the tribe, the child would leave and create his, usually his in that culture, own tribe. There were rarely more than 35 to 40 in an individual tribal group. That is the number that seemed to work the best in balancing resources to individuals. And when that number became larger then the tribe would have to spin out another tribe. It is that way today in primitive cultures if you wish to check your anthropological studies.

And so it is quite natural, particularly in this culture, the one that you are currently experiencing and the one in which this one is also participating, that the children having reached a certain age, leave and create their own tribe, their own group. Sometimes more randomly than others.

You are not really necessarily part of the tribe of your family. If you do not share the same vision, certainly you are not. This does not mean that you can or should treat them with any lack of respect. But how you deal with the separation is how you deal with it.

K:
Lately I’ve had health problems with my back and my parent’s mortality and my thoughts on death and what it will mean and how it will come and yet I will be there for them as much as I can in a way that I can.

Emissary:
As long as you’re being true to yourself.

K:
It is a clarifying thing. Helps to sever those old connections.

Emissary:
Yes, facing mortality is always one of those clarifying situations.

We will at some time in the near future begin to work with the notion of the Ancient Ones. It was originally a discussion of what K we believe you brought to us as allies. It is something that we have been wanting to discuss for some time. The difficulty turns out to be how to go about approaching the subject, because by their nature these beings do not have a beginning or an end. There is no story to them. They also are from a place that is quite indescribable in linear terms. So we find ourselves having to work with this one also sometimes in awareness and sometimes not, to decide how best to present the information so that it will be useful. Our perception is, furthermore, that among other things, this is rather a continuation of our beginning discussion of time and energy beings, and it may be that the audience for these discussions is broader than current. So we may be exploring an area that might turn into something different in terms of presentation. So it is good that we are working together as we do and your work, Donna, in transcribing these sessions is greatly appreciated, as it is good practice for us.

K:
In some reading I’ve been doing there is mention of Guardians of the Race. Are these different beings than the Ancient Ones?

Emissary:
Yes, it is different and it fits in there. The Guardians of the Race, Gods and so on, are part of the discussion, but somewhat different and the difference is one of the difficulties because the language has to be structured in such a way that it would not be confusing. If we were to start off discussing the Ancient Ones and immediately begin to [get] confused with the varieties of projected aspects of individuals, people, what you think of as humans, as well as the aspects of God, or the original one, well, you can see the mess.

We are in essence creating a differentiation where there is none. But it is also a significant differentiation in terms of power. In terms of energy. And how these powers, these energies, these beings, can be effectively tapped – or engaged is a better term – engaged in what Red Bear has talked about healing the future.

Our work basically with this one has to do with an examination of power, an examination of energies available, and the application of power and energies toward individual, personal healing and also healing of the future or what you think of as your future. Understand that when we speak of the future, we are speaking of not something that is fixed, not even something that is shared, but a cooperative vision with all of the conflicts and inconsistencies of such a projection. So there is no fixed future, is the point. There is nothing that needs to be healed in that sense. There is something definitely that many of you in this reality system think of as needing to be healed and that very projection is what is causing the most difficulty for you. Do you see?

DB:
Dang. We’re creating it by our separation and judgment of it!

Emissary:
There is a saying in your culture of, “Duh!?”

[laughter]

Emissary:
So this is the sort of topic that we have in mind for future times. We are also playing with the notion of sitting this one down with the recorder and doing whatever it is that comes from that. We are not certain. The interaction that we have with others generates a kind of energy that is necessary to reach into some of these topics. We would prefer not to go into a further discussion of that at this point. But needless to say, there is a need and there is an interest. And something we will do shortly.

K:
Great.

Emissary:
Are there any further questions?

K:
No.

DB:
I’m good.

Emissary:
Very well. Then let us wish you a wonderful afternoon. Enjoy your day and the weeks to come. Remember, you are creating the future.

K and DB:
Thank you.
